Coffee was introduced into Europe towards the middle of the seventeenth century. The aristocracy soon adopted coffee, more as a ritual than a stimulating drink. Coffee service and tea sets became precious elements of court ceremonial. This led to the creation of wonderfully elegant curved coffee pots and shiny cups that were used to delicately sip this famous beverage which was later to become a bourgeois symbol of the culture of Enlightenment and industriousness. For those who enjoy hearty breakfasts at home, coffee is a ritual that must be accompanied by indispensable accessories: coffee cups, tea pots, sugar bowls, creamer, as well as large cups for those who like to see the new day in with milky coffee or chocolate, not to mention mugs for the weaker Anglo-Saxon coffee.

Our tea sets and coffee service are available in two different versions: the first belongs to the "Century 21" collection and though it refers to tradition it features a modern line and pewter handles covered with an ivory- or bordeaux-coloured layer of insulation. The second, belonging to the Cardo collection, has a decidedly classical style with a simple and curved line. The coffee and tea cups and the sugar bowl are made from white porcelain set in a pewter holder which gives them a recognisable medieval look.
