During the Victorian age, it was considered indelicate for the "gentle sex" to put out candles with their fingers and this created a great demand for articles that could put out candles without having to touch them. Many snuffers were produced and introduced in the middle of the nineteenth century.

The shapes of our candle snuffers are reminiscent of and inspired by classical tradition: they are accurately manufactured in order to seem "antiqued". The alloy used satisfies all EEC and USA regulations governing containers for alimentary use.
