COSI TABELLINI

Pewter casting manufacturer made in Italy

We have worked for long time in order to obtain objects which could give emotions. We did not want them to seem made up of silver, to be grey or matt or to be identical to many others. Cosi Tabellini pewter casting have a solid appearance and a particular patina which is never dark. It is pleasant to handle them, they are velvety to the touch and their practical character surprises. They perfectly match ceramic bowls or china plates; you only need water and soap to give them again their original shade. They are accurately manufactured in order to seem "antiqued" and they give to the house the right warmth.

Our pewter items comprises crafted items selected from a bygone age when time was measured by the sand running in the hourglass and books were read in the flickering light of candles or oil lamps.

Cosi tabellini pewter is handmade in small series and for all the items by our employees; in that way, we can offer the complete range of the collection (more than 400 items) with the same accurate level of finishing.

The alloy used meets all the EEC and USA requirements provided for food containers.

Salt and pepper shakers
Salt cellars and pepper pots are indispensable objects at mealtime and fundamental decorative elements for the tabletop. They bring good luck. They are given to newly weds or new house owners. Salt and pepper shakers, preferably individual, are placed between the glasses and the bread plate.

Our salt and pepper mills and shakers are made from crystal mounted on a crafted pewter structure.

Cruet stands
Stands for oil and vinegar cruets were invented in about 1720. The first examples generally contained three shakers and two cruets. However, there were also versions holding just two cruets, one for the oil and the other for the vinegar, though at the end of the eighteenth century some cruet stands could hold up to eight or ten containers.

Our cruet stands are made out of mouth-blown glass or crystal. The structure is made from crafted cast pewter.

Gravy boats
Gravy boats are relatively new to the tabletop as they made their first appearance during the first few decades of the eighteenth century. The oldest known examples date back to 1717. They are oval with slightly undulating rims, a scrolled handle on either side and a lip at each end. In around 1720, however, gravy boats with a handle at one end and a lip at the other became more common.
